How To Make Homemade Bubbles with Your Child Using a Learning Tower

13 Jun 2024 0 Comments

Homemade bubbles

Beyond the simple joy of watching bubbles float through the air, blowing bubbles offers a wide range of other benefits for children's activities. It not only encourages outdoor play and physical activity, but it also stimulates hand-eye coordination as children chase and pop the bubbles. Blowing bubbles also can be a calming and therapeutic activity, helping children to relax and unwind during stressful or anxious times.

Getting Started: Homemade Bubble Solution

Using your learning tower, your child can safely and comfortably participate in making the bubble solution. The Learning Tower's design ensures that your child is at counter height, providing them with a stable and secure platform to engage in this fun and educational activity.

Ingredients:

6 cups of distilled water

1 cup of dish soap

Optional: 1/3 cup of glycerin and 2 tablespoons of sugar for stronger bubbles

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1 - Mix:

Set up your Learning Tower in the kitchen. Have your child stand in the Learning Tower and measure out 6 cups of distilled water into a large bowl or container.

Add 1 cup of dish soap to the water.

If desired, add 1/3 cup of glycerin and 2 tablespoons of sugar to the mixture for extra strong bubbles.

Encourage your child to stir the mixture gently with a spoon or whisk, under your supervision.

Step 2 - Wait:

Let the mixture sit for at least an hour or even overnight. This allows all the ingredients to mix well together and any excess foam to dissipate.

Use this time to talk with your child about the science behind bubbles and why the mixture needs to rest.

Step 3 - Adjust:

If the bubbles aren't strong enough, try adding more dish soap or glycerin to the mixture. If the bubbles are too weak, add water to dilute the solution.

Demonstrate different bubble-blowing techniques to your child, showing them how to blow slowly and steadily to create the best bubbles.

Fun and Learning Combined

Using your Learning Tower, your child can be part of the entire process, from mixing the ingredients to blowing the bubbles.

This activity not only fosters independence and confidence but also provides a hands-on learning experience. The Learning Tower's design ensures that your child is safe while engaging in this fun task, making it an ideal addition to your home.
